The deal is expected to be announced within a few weeks, opening a new chapter in the history of the iconic Italian fashion house founded in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni and which has, over the years, become synonymous with excellence and creativity worldwide.
The frontrunner to acquire the company appears to be Authentic Brands Group (which runs Reebok, Guess, and Champion, etc), the US giant that has just added the Marciano brand to its portfolio. Also still in contention is the consortium led by the family office of Jerry Silverman, a co-founder of American Eagle, along with other European investors.
