After almost three years, the wait is over for fans of the Italian Festival and the royalty who were originally chosen in 2019 to represent the 2020 festival. The Italian Festival in Tickfaw will kickoff at 5 p.m. Friday and last through 6 p.m. Sunday, held on the festival grounds on U.S. Highway 51.
“We are so excited to finally get to celebrate our Italian heritage after almost three years of not being able to have our festival” said Veda Abene, co-chairperson of the festival and publicity chairperson. “Our royalty certainly deserves this weekend. They have stood by us throughout the pandemic, and we could not have asked for a better group to reign over the past three years.”
