Italian gold and jewelry sector grows despite pressure from precious metal prices

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Italy’s gold, silver, and jewelry industry is entering 2026 with momentum, marked by solid revenue growth, expanding employment, and increasing international relevance. In 2024, the top 101 manufacturers and traders active in this sector reported nearly €8.9 billion in total revenue, up more than 6% compared with the previous year.

This growth continued a trend from 2022, reflecting both price dynamics in precious metals and underlying demand for Italian craftsmanship across global markets. The industry employs close to 17,100 workers, with employment rising over 12% compared with earlier years as firms expand their capacity to serve both domestic and export customers.
