A new downtown restaurant is serving up authentic southern Italian and Sicilian-style cooking. Magdaleno Italian Restaurant opened last August, and had its official ribbon cutting ceremony Friday.
Chef and owner, Ernesto Magdaleno, was trained in Little Italy, New York.
"He is the most amazing chef," said Polly Kenzie, the restaurant's manager. "He shops locally every morning. He makes all his pastas in house, bakes fresh bread, and makes homemade soups and desserts every day."
