Tourism in Italy delivered an exceptional performance in 2025, confirming the sector’s full recovery and setting new records for visitor numbers, spending, and regional growth. By the end of the year, total tourist visits were projected to approach 480 million, marking an increase of about 3 % compared with 2024.
This expansion translated into tangible economic benefits, reinforcing tourism as one of the country’s most important industries and a key driver of employment and local development. International travelers played a central role in this growth. Foreign arrivals rose steadily throughout the year, and spending by visitors from abroad increased by nearly 5 % during the first nine months alone.
