In Italy, the way people access news is increasingly shaped by digital platforms, but trust in what they read online remains fragile. Recent survey data reveal a clear contradiction – Italians are more connected and informed than ever, yet skepticism toward information sources continues to rise.
A large majority of Italians rely on the internet as their primary source of news. About 68% say they check news multiple times a day, often at different moments, driven by curiosity, habit, or a sense of civic duty. Overall satisfaction with online information is relatively high, with around 79% saying they are generally satisfied with the information they find.
