Italy has reached a historic turning point in the global fruit trade, emerging as the world’s leading exporter of apples. In the most recent campaign, Italian apple exports achieved record levels both in value and volume, overtaking traditional powerhouses and reshaping international rankings.
This result confirms the strategic importance of apples within Italy’s agri-food system and highlights the country’s ability to compete at the highest level on global markets. Export revenues climbed to approximately €1.2 billion, marking an increase of about 19% compared with the previous season.
