Italy continues to stand out as Europe’s leading country for vegetable and aromatic seed production, confirming a position built on scale, specialization, and long-term expertise. In 2024, about 42,500 hectares across the country were dedicated to the multiplication of seeds for vegetables and aromatic herbs.
This figure places Italy ahead of other European producers and highlights the strategic role of seeds within its agricultural system. Vegetable seeds represent a substantial share of this surface.
