Italy’s transplant system reached a new high in 2025, confirming a steady upward trend that has continued for nearly a decade. The country’s healthcare network reported record levels of organ donations and transplant procedures, highlighting both medical efficiency and growing public awareness.
The momentum builds on strong results from 2024, when 4,692 organ transplants were performed nationwide, marking a +5.1% increase compared to the previous year. That figure already represented one of the highest totals ever recorded in Italy and reinforced the country’s position among Europe’s leaders in transplant medicine.
