Italy’s golden 2025, champions and winning teams across every sport

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Italy’s 2025 sports season will be remembered as a turning point – not just for the volume of medals won, but for the clarity with which winning athletes and national teams emerged across nearly every Olympic discipline. It was a year that combined star power, depth, and continuity, confirming Italy as one of the most complete sporting nations in the world.

Tennis was the sport that best represented this new status. Jannik Sinner spent much of the year among the top three in the ATP rankings, winning multiple high-level tournaments and reaching the decisive stages of the Grand Slams with remarkable consistency. His 2025 season included more than 60 match wins and several victories against top-10 opponents, cementing his role as the leader of Italian men’s tennis. Behind him, Lorenzo Musetti added flair and substance, particularly on clay, while Flavio Cobolli took a decisive step forward, regularly reaching ATP quarterfinals and semifinals.
