Italian tennis is enjoying far more than a golden era on the professional circuit. The achievements of Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, Jasmine Paolini and a growing generation of Italian players are helping transform tennis and padel into a nationwide phenomenon, with participation, audiences, clubs and economic impact all reaching impressive levels.
The FITP Tennis and Padel Report 2025 shows that the 2 sports now attract more than 6 million players and approximately 19 million fans across Italy. Tennis alone has 17.9 million followers, including 8.5 million highly engaged fans, while padel has attracted 5.4 million. Between 2020 and 2025, the number of tennis fans increased by 10%, while padel recorded 26% growth.
