Italy is taking a decisive step to protect and enhance the value of its manufacturing identity by combining tradition with advanced technology. A new initiative known as “ItalyX” is introducing blockchain tools to certify the authenticity of Made in Italy products, responding to a global market where reputation and traceability are increasingly critical.
The strength of Italian production is widely recognized, but it faces a growing challenge. While 86% of Italian consumers say they actively choose domestic products and check their origin, the situation abroad is far more complex. Around 45% of international consumers admit they have purchased goods that only appear Italian, and 28% say they even preferred these imitations over authentic products.
