A rare opportunity to see the work of a leading artist from the Italian Arte Povera movement is coming up this Thursday, as Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring, New York, opens its new exhibition, “Tutto Boetti 1966–1993.” The show features a selection of early works by Alighiero Boetti, many of which were originally presented in 1967 at the artist’s first solo exhibition in Turin.
“Tutto Boetti 1966–1993” offers a comprehensive look at Boetti’s oeuvre, tracing his journey from early experiments in 1960s Turin to the large-scale works of his later career before his death in 1994. The exhibition highlights Boetti’s pivotal role in shaping the themes of Arte Povera, a movement that emerged in the late 1960s and saw artists use everyday materials to create their works.
