The Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia might close down as a consequence of budget cuts planned by the Italian Government. Closing the Consulate would be a significant loss for both the local Italian community and the Country itself.
Traditionally a historic site of Italian immigration and home to a large Italian-American community, Philadelphia remains a preferred destination for a new generation of highly educated Italians that move here to study, work and conduct research in the prestigious academic, scientific, medical and business enterprise.
