Italy is in second place behind the United States in terms of company reshoring: 121 against the 326 of the US. It is followed by the United Kingdom (68) and Germany (63) and, overall, there are almost 730 cases throughout the world, according to data contained in the 2016 edition of the analysis "Manufacturing reshoring" by the Research Group of Uni-Club moRE Reshoring.
Numbers that are objectively small compared to the respective manufacturing universes but that demonstrate, or rather confirm, how it is possible to return to producing in the advanced economies after delocalizing in developing economies. That manufacturing is in the Italian DNA of doing business is then confirmed by the regional analysis of the headquarters of the companies: almost 100 are in Northern Italy, 20 in the Center while only 4 represent the South.
