New restaurant to open in shuttered Guiseppe’s Grille in Northborough

By: Jonathan Phelps

The owner of a restaurant in Worcester hopes to bring a little bit of Boston’s North End to the old Guiseppe’s Grille building off Solomon Pond. Aurelia Metohu, owner of Caffe Espresso Trattoria on Chandler Street in Worcester, bought the property at 35 Solomon Pond Road and plans to open Casta Diva in November. Guiseppe’s Grille closed last September.

“It will be a North End Italian concept,” Metohu said. “It is going to be a seasonal menu and we’re going to use local ingredients. We are going to get in touch with local farms.” The restaurant will be more upscale than Guiseppe’s, he said. “Of course, we are going to have some Italian classics, but we want it to be authentic northern Italian,” he said.
