Democrat Michael Giordano, Jr. is seeking re-election to his third term as mayor of North Plainfield. Giordano, a resident of the borough for more than 25 years, is running unopposed. Election Day 2016 is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Giordano began his political career in North Plainfield in 2005 when he was appointed to fill a seat on Borough Council. The following year, he was elected to his own term and, in 2008, won his first term as mayor. In 2012, Giordano was re-elected and is currently serving his second, four-year term. He also sits on the borough's planning board.
