Now, Venice Joins Sorrento And Sicily in Leading The Charge For Italy’s Coastal Tourism Growth

Italy’s coastal regions are gearing up for a busy summer in 2025 as tourism continues to grow. With international visitors making up a significant portion of the increase, Italian coastal towns are seeing both positive economic impacts and challenges that come with handling a large influx of travelers.

Official data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) and the Ministry of Tourism show that international arrivals have increased by 1.8%, while domestic tourist numbers have grown by 0.6%. Among the most popular regions are the Emilia-Romagna and Venetian Rivieras in the northeast, accounting for more than 30% of all bookings.
