The financing is in place; orchestrated by Piedmont's Film Commission, which has already managed to get several wine producers interested. Sideways the movie, Italian style, might be in the cards. Soon, though not too soon: it might take some time still before the stage is set in the Langhe's most prestigious hills.
"What's more, we cannot rule out the possibility of a made-for-TV movie rather than a film made for movie theaters," according to Paolo Damilano, president of the Film Commission and of the Cinema Museum in Turin, as well as (in fact, above all) Barolo producer.
