Pronounced 'Ah-Beetz:' New Haven Museum opening exhibit celebrating city's pizza history

By: Declan Walsh

For those New Haveners who view the city's legendary pizza as an art form, "ah-beetz" will finally take its rightful place inside museum walls next month. The New Haven Museum announced last week that a new exhibit, Pronounced "Ah-Beetz," will open Oct. 9, exploring the history of Italian immigration and the evolution of pizza in New Haven.

"From the arrival of Italian immigration to the Elm City, to the rusted wheels of Frank Pepe's bread cart, to the black "char" on your fingertips, take the 100-year journey from old-world Italy to present-day New Haven and discover the history of apizza," the museum wrote in a news release.
