Rev. Vincent Capodanno served both his country and as a member of the clergy. On Sept. 4, 1967 -- 53 years ago -- he died in action while ministering to wounded Marines on the battlefield during the Vietnam War.
Father Capodanno spent time as a Maryknoll Missionary, a Catholic priest and U.S. Navy Chaplain. Born on Feb. 13, 1929, on Staten Island, he was ordained a priest on June 14, 1958.
