Renzo Piano is set to add a 36-story tower in san francisco to his north american portfolio. the ground-up development will be located in the city’s transbay neighborhood, an area undergoing major regeneration, which will also host foster + partners’ new oceanwide center. Plans for the mixed-use building include 69 residential units, a 255-room luxury hotel, meeting and ballroom facilities, a spa and fitness center, and a ground floor restaurant.
Developed by pacific eagle, ‘555 howard’ has been designed by renzo piano building workshop in collaboration with mark cavagnero associates. The tower will rise to a total height of 405 feet (123 meters), where it will be crowned with a public rooftop populated with trees that lend the scheme a natural green halo.
