The Sons of Italy announced the group is accepting applications for its $500 Italian Heritage Scholarship until April 1. Each applicant must be of Italian descent, a senior at a high school in Salida with at least a 2.5 grade point average and have been accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning or trade school, a press release stated.
Applicants must provide proof of GPA; a letter of acceptance to an educational institution; a letter of recommendation from a teacher or community member; a resume of school, work and volunteer achievements; and a cover letter that includes contact information, explanation of their Italian heritage and why they are proud to be an Italian American, and a short statement of future plans, study subjects and why they should be selected.
