Oscar-winning Italian director Paolo Sorrentino is making an documentary about football coach Carlo Ancelotti that will trace a career spanning five decades and culminate at the 2026 World Cup, where Ancelotti is currently managing the Brazil national team.
The project, which has been confirmed following weeks of speculation on Italian sports blogs, was announced at the Cannes Film Festival and was reported by Deadline. The documentary will combine archive footage from Ancelotti's life with newly shot material in Italy, Spain, Brazil and the US during this summer's tournament to create an intimate portrait of the Italian coach.
