San Antonio's River Walk has earned the city the "Venice of Texas" moniker for years, but a new restaurant is bringing another part of Italy's history to the famed waterway. Fiume, a pizza spot, is now open on the River Walk. The Italian name means "river" in English and marked a former Italian territory.
Fiume opened on Monday, August 8 at 200 S Alamo St., San Antonio, TX 78205 (in the Hilton Palacio Del Rio) and is now serving pizza made with Texas-sourced products, or what's being dubbed as "Texapoletana," daily. San Antonio Chef Jessica Makdisi developed the menu of food and curated a wine and beer list for the new restaurant, according to a release.
