Verona UNICO is pleased to announce the 44th Annual Verona UNICO Labor Day Classic will take place on Monday, September 7, 2026, in Verona Park starting at 9 a.m. It begins with a one-mile fun run and health walk around Verona Park followed by a five-kilometer race at 9:30 a.m. This is one of the best 5K races held in northern New Jersey, on a fast, USATF-certified course through the streets of Verona with the start at Lakeside Avenue and a scenic finish through Verona Park.
This year’s event is dedicated in memory of Kelly Lawrence, the daughter of Verona Chapter President Mickey Lawrence. Kelly was a lifelong Verona resident who graduated from Verona High in 1996. Kelly worked for the town and was involved in the SCA, was a class mother and coached cheerleading. She was a dedicated mom to her two children, Charlie and Francesca.
