Delaware District 1 donated a check for $1,000 to the Sussex Technical High School Athletic Department. This donation was a result of the proceeds of the 3rd Annual Brian Piccolo Award Ceremony and financial support from the Delaware Commission on Italian Heritage and Culture.
Three local high schools - Cape Henlopen, Indian River and Sussex Tech - were represented in this competition. The nominee and winner from Sussex Tech was Zachary Varrato, a senior athlete and scholar. Additional proceeds from ticket sales for this event and a raffle will be donated to local and national charities.
