Old-school Brooklyn red sauce joint Michael’s of Brooklyn just leveled up its new takeout menu. The 56-year-old institution in Midwood announced the creation of a casual new parm-to-go counter, with cheesy chicken, eggplant, meatball, and veal sandwiches on deck. The parm rolls, which range in price from $8.99 to $10.99, are topped with melty parmesan cheese and smothered in the restaurant’s housemade tomato gravy sauce.
The upscale Brooklyn restaurant is one of the borough’s best date spots, a place where locals have come to expect deep, dark red sauces and live piano during dinner. Catering not-considered, delivery is a new pivot for Michael’s, but it’s one that owner Michael Cacace has been taking in stride.
