What it's like to be a food judge at Buffalo's Italian Festival

Fresh off my stint as a food judge at the Taste of Buffalo, my husband and I spent Thursday afternoon sampling the best food the Galbani Italian Heritage Festival has to offer.

My husband, a tough critic, was wowed by the cartocci from Gino's Italian Bakery. It was like a cronut with cannoli filling. We both loved the margherita pizza from O.G. Wood Fire food truck, which a satisfied Italian customer assured me was the most authentic Italian pizza you can get in Buffalo.
