Calabria sits at the southernmost point of the Italian peninsula. The foot of the boot, if you will. Framed by two seas—the Tyrrhenian to the west and the Ionian to the east—this gem of a region is defined by picturesque coastlines, mountainous interiors, and towns that feel refreshingly untouched by mass tourism.
Compared to Italy’s more famous destinations, life here isn’t designed for spectacle or catering to tourists. It’s a little rough around the edges, but it’s undoubtedly my favorite place in the world.
