For the first time in a Louis Vuitton Cup finals dogged by breakdowns and high winds, both the Italian and New Zealand catamarans sailed two races, stayed in one piece, and crossed the finish line without incident Wednesday.
Emirates Team New Zealand sailed two clean and fast races, defeating Luna Rossa Challenge by more than two minutes in the first and a minute-and-a-half in the second, advancing its record to 4-1 in the best-of-13 series. The first team to win seven races will take on defending champion Oracle Team USA in the 34th America's Cup beginning Sept. 7.
