Culture cannot be stopped by the war or similar events. In this spirit Sunday night March 20, 2022 several filmmakers, producers and actors who will participate to the Oscars as nominees on Sunday 26 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, were hosted at the 17^th annual edition of Los Angeles Italia film Fashion and Art Festival. 

Finally, after the pandemic, his founder Pascal Vicedomini organized this edition to highlight Italy’s longstanding cinematic, lifestyle and art and to introduce current Italian production to USA. This year was dedicated to the centennial of the birth of Vittorio Gassman, called “Il Mattatore”. 

The opening ceremony was hosted by Italian American actor Robert Davi, CSI:Miami actress Sofia Milos and acting coach Bernie Hiller, Consul General of Italy Silvia Chiave and Emanuele Amendola, Director of Italian Insitut of Culture . 

The guests were actors Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli (“Shadow of the day”); Paolo Sorrentino, Oscar nominee for The hand of God; Filippo Scotti; directors Alessandro Pondi and Valerio Zanaoli; producers Andrea Iervolino, Lorenzo Mieli, Chiara Tilesi; actors Michele Ragno, Esmeralda Spadea; cinematografer Massimo Zeri; composers Francesco Giammaruso and Carlo Siliotto; rapper Clementino. 

The opening night was dedicated to “Shadow of the day”, and Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli received an award from Nicola Corigliano – Intesa San Paolo bank who financed the movie. During this week from 1:30pm until midnight, free movies and documentaries showed and acclaimed by the public with a lot of interest.
