Giancarlo Giannini on Hollywood's famous "Walk of fame." Initially scheduled for 2020 and then postponed due to the pandemic, the footprint ceremony will be held on March 6 in Los Angeles. This is the sixteenth Italian star: an important recognition for one of the greatest protagonists of Italian cinema.
The occasion will be the eighth edition of Filming Italy staged from Feb. 28 through March 3 in Los Angeles, with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles and in collaboration with APA (Audiovisual Producers Association): the actor will be honored for his career and a marathon of his films will be screened.
The famous celebrity promenade-which stretches on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard from Gower to La Brea and Vine Street from Yucca to Sunset-will thus be enriched with a new Italian presence. With its 2,628 five-pointed stars, it is surely the most celebrated sidewalk in the world. And also the most coveted.
Giannini will be the sixteenth Italian star: on the same occasion the award will be given posthumously to Pavarotti. Other Italians on the Walk of Fame include Sophia Loren, Rodolfo Valentino, Anna Magnani, Andrea Bocelli, Ennio Morricone and Gina Lollobrigida.
