Loosely translated from Italian to mean “big ride,” the GranFondo making its way through Little Italy this weekend is open to anyone, whether an experienced cyclist or someone new to a ride like this who wants to see whether they can do it.
The mass-start, timed ride has four route options, including King and Queen of the Mountain competitions, and rest stops in Otay Lakes and at Plaza Bonita. The whole experience includes a two-day festival with a Bike & Fitness Expo, ride support and food along the course, along with an after-party with live music, an Italian pasta fest, beer garden and massages for riders.
