Thank you, Nationals, for an incredible experience on #ItalianHeritage Night! IABF officials Joe Quagliano, Carmine Gangone and Chris Vaccaro were joined on field by GM Mike Rizzo, young pitcher Cade Cavalli and coach Gary DiSarcina. They’re all very proud of their Italian American heritage.
IABF felt it was necessary to have representatives from the Italian Embassy to share in the cultural exchange. Alessandro Gonzales, deputy chief of mission (No. 2 in the #ItalianEmbassy) and Michela Carboniero, the director of social affairs, joined us on field. We were also joined in the stands by colleagues from the National Italian American Foundation. It’s mazing how baseball can serve as a point of #diplomacy and international relations.
