The Italian Cultural Institute of Washington is glad to announce the presentation of “String virtuosi in Eighteenth-Century Naples: Culture, Power, and Music Institutions” (Cambridge University Press, 2024) written by Guido Olivieri, Professor of Musicology at the University of Texas – Austin, and the accompanying concert by Modern Music (Risa Browder at the violin, John Moran at the baroque cello, and Dongsok Shin at the harpsichord).
The book presentation and concert will be held on October 10, 2024, at Dahlgren Chapel, at Georgetown university, in Washington, DC. Serafina Hager (Director of the Italian Research Center at Georgetown University) will introduce a conversation led by Anthony R. DelDonna (Thomas E. Caestecker Professor of Music, Georgetown University) and the author, Guido Olivieri (Professor of Musicology, University of Texas – Austin).
