Mike Marino, known as “New Jersey’s Bad Boy,” will perform at Surflight Theatre at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 in a comedy show co-produced by Catch a Rising Star’s Suzy Yengo. Tickets are $24.50 and may be purchased online at surflight.org, by phone at 609-492-9477, or at the box office.
A SandPaper review of Surflight’s current main stage production, “The Wedding Singer,” was critical of that show’s portrayal of New Jersey residents. But Marino gets a pass to poke fun at Garden State residents considering he was born in Jersey City 51 years ago. And, because he is Italian-American, he can also get away with Italian jokes, which is good considering he’s currently on a “Make America Italian Again Tour.”
