When Bruce Gradkowski made his first start for the Oakland Raiders back in November 2009, the tweets and the e-mails started coming. Jewish fans came up to him constantly and assumed he was Jewish.
It turned out Bruce Gradkowski is not Jewish. Bruce has a Polish mother & an Italian father. The 31-year-old is yet another Pittsburgh born-and-bred quarterback. This area has been and continues to be the hometown of a long list of NFL football legends such as Tony Dorsett (Hopewell High School), Dan Marino (Central Catholic High School), Bill Fralic (Penn Hills High School), Joe Montana (Ringgold High School), Joe Namath (Beaver Falls High School), and Johnny Unitas (St. Justin High School).
