On May 5, Consul Manca attended the “Concert of the Finalists” organized by the Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan. This event concluded the Italian Songs and Arias Vocal Competition for Michigan High School Students, which has now reached its 25th edition. The ten young finalists performed in front of a large audience of Italians and Italian-Americans who all had in common the passion for Italian classical music and opera.
Natalie Corrigan, a student of the Northville High School, was the winner of the first prize. Along with Rachel Miltimore and Jarret Hazelton, respectively, second and third prize recipients in the competition, Ms. Corrigan sang the national anthems at the recent Festa della Repubblica. We wish all the success to these young singers and we encourage them to follow their passion for Opera!
