The Racine Concert Band continues its 97-year tradition of free concerts Sunday night (July 28) at the Racine Zoo. The concert starts at 7:30 pm. Music Director Mark Eichner will conduct the band, soprano Melissa Cardamone is the guest artist and Adam Maegaard is the French horn soloist. Don Rosen, recently honored with a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association “Best Radio Show” award, is the master of ceremonies.
A graduate of Lawrence University and the Eastman School of Music, Cardamone is a staff pianist at Carthage College and a frequent performer as a soprano with professional companies, including the Skylight Opera Theater, the Sunset Playhouse and the Milwaukee Opera Theater.
