The Italian American Society presented Ken, Derek and Brad Leonard with an award on Monday at its annual Charity Gala dinner for their work with local high school athletes and their achievements in coaching.
The three were named the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Honorees of the Year for charity and motivation. Ken Leonard has won three state titles as the football coach at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School.
He won back-to-back Class 5A titles in 2005 and 2006, followed by a third in 2008, which came in Class 6A. He's coached the Cyclones since 1984.
