Italian-American performer Max DeTogne will play the title role in a unique rendition of “Jesus Christ Superstar” being staged by Theo Ubique in Chicago. Artistic Director Fred Anzevino will unplug the legendary rock opera, presenting an acoustic performance in the cabaret setting of the No Exit Cafe.
“We feel our intimate space in the No Exit will give us the chance to tell this story in a new and powerful way,” Anzevino explains. “‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is at its core a very personal story of Christ and the people around him.
