It’s American-style football, played by teams in the Italian Football League. “This is their Super Bowl,” explained Italian Bowl Board Member Nick Eyde. For the second time, Toledo is set to host The Italian Bowl at The University of Toledo Glass Bowl. In the Summer of 2023, The Italian Bowl came to town thanks in large part to Eyde, who’s a former football player in the IFL.
“So, I played in this league for five years in my 20s and then after my playing career finished, I would go back and do some color commentary on The Italian Bowl in Italy in Italian,” said Eyde. This time, organizers are promising even more events, including a concert, youth clinics, and an Italian Restaurant Week lasting 14 days.
