Imps' latest production embraces 'Family, faith and food'

By: Regan Foster

Remember that old holiday song, "Over the River and Through the Woods?" So does Nick Cristano, a young Italian-American man from New Jersey who, for 29 years, has "born the heat, and religiously shown up for dinner" at his grandparent's home.

"It's such a happy song," says Nick, the fictional lead of Joe DiPietro's comedy play "Over the River and Through the Woods." "Those people are going to see their grandparents and they're singing, and they're dancing. . . ." Enter his grandmother, affectionately known as "Nan," who interrupts Nick's pondering by demanding to know what more she can feed her already-overstuffed grandson.
