Yes, the two-headed monster of Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore led the Lynx to a bounce-back win over the New York Liberty on Saturday — Fowles with a team-high 25 points, Moore chipping in with 20. In the end, though, coach Cheryl Reeve found herself wanting to talk about Cecilia Zandalasini more than anything else. Zandalasini, a relative unknown around the WNBA after playing in her native Italy, finished with 13 points off the bench and and helped break the game open with a buzzer beater at the end of the first quarter.
“I don’t think the league knows her yet,” Reeve said. “I don’t think the league knows what she’s about. I don’t think she’s atop most team’s scout list.” That will change if the 22-year-old Zandalasini has more performances like Saturday’s. “It was fun,” she said. “We got the win, so that was the most important thing for us.”
