While he was out of the lineup during the holidays nursing an ankle injury, Danilo Gallinari and Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone had a chat about what the forward could do better to help his team improve. The conversation has not only elevated Gallinari's game, but also pushed the Nuggets to a 95-92 decision over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night inside the Pepsi Center.
Gallinari logged 27 points and six rebounds in nearly 34 minutes of action to help the Nuggets win for the second time in three outings and open an eight-game homestand with a measure of success. It marked the fifth time in his five games since coming back from the ankle injury that Gallinari has scored 20 or more points.
