Ever since Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka got into the scandal that forced him to be suspended for a year, Joe Mazzulla was the interim head coach. The organization has now decided to change it. The Celtics officially announced that Mazzulla is not the permanent head coach, replacing Udoka in the position. The franchise has also extended the contract with Mazzulla. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
'As he has shown, Joe is a very talented coach and leader," Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens said. "He has a unique ability to galvanize a room around a mission. We are thankful for the work he has done to help us get to this point, and excited that he has agreed to lead us into the future."
