Join us for an early Valentine's Day celebration with a screening of Palermo: Amore e Fontane, a love letter to the city of Palermo. The screening will begin At CCF (8 East 69th Street | New York, NY) at 6:30 pm on Saturday, February 8th and is preceded by a thirty minute cocktail reception. After the film's conclusion, a short Q and A with the directors will round out the evening. RSVP here.
Two lovers, Alessandra and Francesco, meet, fall in love and explore Palermo. And while their love unfolds, the film celebrates the history, culture, and storytelling traditions of Palermo, the capital of Sicily, in the genre and style of city symphony films that emerged in the 1920s.
From classical poets like Homer to Boccaccio to Giovanni Verga; music inspired by opera to contemporary jazz, and historic monuments that include churches, piazzas, fountains and religious icons like Palermo's patron saint Santa Rosalia, Palermo: Amore e Fontane is a journey of life and love in all its facets through the legendary city of Palermo.
