What do you get when you put together a hungry servant, a know-it-all Latin speaking doctor and a string of sausages? Will Pulcinella finally propose to Colombina or will he be distracted by the seductive noblewoman Flaminia? You get Pazzi Lazzi in Aria di Commedia ! You'll Giggle at Dottore's "little problem" and the beautiful Flaminia's long list of useless suitors.
The show features two original, independent scenes inspired by the classic Commedia scenarios of the early 1600s. New England Conservatory M.o John Tyson and director of Renaissonics, a renowned Renaissance music ensemble, provides the musical accompaniment. http://renaissonics.weebly.com
Through a series of sketches and skits, Pazzi Lazzi will bring to life characters and themes reminiscent of the traveling-theater-troupe era. The comedy is still just as funny, the themes are still just as relevant, and the physicality of the actors is a true pleasure.
Enjoy classic Commedia dell'Arte tricks and double entendres with a few modern twists!

For the past year, Pazzi Lazzi has both performed on stage and presented instructional workshops for numerous universities, schools and cultural organizations. For further info visit: http://www.pazzilazzitroupe.com and blog http://pazzilazzitroupe.wordpress.com

What people are saying about Pazzi Lazzi:
Boston-based Commedia dell'Arte company Pazzi Lazzi Troupe puts its twisted take on envy, gluttony, and lust..." - Boston Globe
"Boston's own Commedia dell'Arte troupe made its fabulous debut... The professional actors took the stage under several different guises, ranging from the crafty Arlecchino to pompous Dottor Balanzone, accompanied by music of the times." - Nicola Orichuia, Journalist, Bostoniano.info
"The Pazzi Lazzi troupe has the power to transport the audience to a 16th century Italian piazza. The skits have the commedia dell'arte's traditional bright comedy without leaving out references to the modern world. With great stage presence, charisma, and comedic timing, the three actors create an absolutely unique and fun performance. They use biting wit and notable mimicry. From Arlecchino to Pantalone, to Colombina and Pulcinella, you are in for a bunch of laughs!"
