Ray Romano, best known for his "Everybody Loves Raymond" series, has appeared in an array of films and series, from "The Irishman," with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci to "Bad Education," to voicing the character of Manny in the animated "Ice Age" films. On Tuesday, fans saw an entirely different side of Romano: director.
He and film crews were at the Galleria in White Plain filming an untitled dramedy. Deadline has reported that Romano will direct and star; Laurie Metcalf co-stars. According to Deadline, Romano wrote the script with Mark Stegemann about a blue-collar, Italian-American family from Queens. When their son becomes a big high-school basketball star, the family is torn apart due to his father's (Romano's) ambitions for his son.
